Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome back from “Spring Break”! I hope you had a relaxing week and that you are refreshed and ready to continue learning for the final 5.5 weeks of our semester. Of course, you’ve heard that grades as of March 13th can only improve. This is an incredible and unique opportunity for us to continue learning without the stress of grades! Any scores I enter from now until the end of the semester (May 20th) will only help your grade. You will be rewarded for the work you’ve done so far during our digital learning time. I encourage you to continue learning with me throughout the semester. I will be posting daily/weekly plans on my blog and using Schoology, as needed. I’ll also be hosting live Zoom sessions periodically so we can communicate “face to face” and discuss what we’re learning. Though I’m devastated we won’t be returning to Harrison this semester, I am looking for the silver lining: we get to work at our own pace, we get to engage in activities we would not otherwise, and we get to relax a bit since the stress of punitive grades has been lifted. As always, I am available to answer any questions or provide support for students. Thank you! Mrs. Motsinger **Note about synthesis essay grades: In addition to your essay grade, I'll also be giving you a prewriting grade that will include all of the work you've done to write your synthesis essay! This includes your motif tracker, thesis statement submission, intro draft, outline, finding quotes activity, and all rough drafts! I'll be entering these grades on Friday, so please make sure you're working in order! If you're behind, go back and make sure you don't skip any steps! 9th Literature & Composition Spring 2020 Lesson Plans Week 13: 13 - 17 Apr. 2020 This Week’s Learning Goals: Engage in literary analysis.
